The San Antonio Ethnic Art Society’s Scholarship Program

The San Antonio Ethnic Art Society’s “Scholarship Program” was formed in 2004. The first scholarships were awarded to four students in August, 2005. The purpose of this program is to provide an avenue for young art students to study, explore, exhibit and become aware of the various techniques and mediums used to create visual art. We also prepare students with guidelines for the use of art in life. The program is open to students between the ages 10 and 17 (sixth grade through high school).

Requirements

Students applying for a scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a sincere interest in visual art.

  • Be open to learning and perfecting new techniques/mediums.

  • Have support of parents/guardians.

  • Have a skill in at least one visual art medium.

  • Be committed to attending all scheduled classes.

Students accepted into the SAEAS scholarship program may continue through high school graduation, as long as they meet all requirements and receive a satisfactory written review from their instructor after each session.

Classes are led by SAEAS members or local arts programs, with all fees and supplies provided. The program has a rolling deadline so students can apply any time.

If you're eligible and interested, please reach out—we’d love to hear from you!
