About the Event
The Department of Arts & Culture will host Poetry Night on Thursday, April 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with the current exhibition on view at Culture Commons Gallery. Built on Legacy: Artists of San Antonio celebrates the rich artistic heritage of the city and honors the multi-generational talent of local artists whose creativity and perseverance have shaped San Antonio’s artistic landscape.
Poetry Night will feature ekphrastic performances by 12 local poets, including San Antonio Poets Laureate Eddie Vega (2024-2027) and Andrea Vocab Sanderson (2020-2023) with poems inspired by artworks on view in the exhibition. Poetry Night is one of the dozens of events taking place in April during National Poetry Month.
