Amira Churchwell

Artist

Amira Churchwell is an interdisciplinary artist working across fabric, sound, voice, writing, and design. Guided by intuition, her work explores emotional depth, freedom, and the transformative experiences that shape identity, including family, passion, and personal transition. Through spoken word, music, textile work, and fashion, she creates immersive experiences that evoke movement, memory, and human connection. Churchwell’s practice centers on presence, individuality, and storytelling, inviting audiences to reflect on the rhythms of everyday life. Her artistic journey began early with publication in A Celebration of Poets at age 10, and she later earned national recognition as a Scholastic Silver Key medalist in 2023 for her multimedia textile-based portfolio.
